We are delighted to have been asked to promote this great new CD, as all profits from its sale will be donated to assist families struggling as a result of the water crisis in the lower Murray.

Dismayed by the absence of emergency measures to save the Murray-Darling, Lower Murray farmer, tireless River Murray advocate and retired songstress, Kathryn Rothe, last week returned to the studio with other well-known South Australian musicians to record a CD single promoting awareness of the crisis and to remind both Federal and State Governments that urgent action is required to acquire the water that is so desperately needed to flush out and revive the system.

Kathryn first grabbed the attention of local and national media when during the 1997 and 1998 AFL Final Series, she painted her dairy cows in Crows colours and placed them in a paddock by the side of the Adelaide to Melbourne highway at Murray Bridge. In subsequent years, she showed her non-sectarian support for South Australia, applying the Port Power livery to her herd. Kathryn continues to display her unusual artistic skills whenever either team reaches the final stages of the AFL competition.

The new song entitled ?When The Big Gums Fall? is a country-rock number with a clear message. The recording also features a choir of local school-children who wished to contribute to this project.

All profits from sales of the CD will be donated to the Mannum to Wellington Local Action Plan, assisting families in the Lower Murray region who are currently ?doing it tough? as a result of the crisis.
